| National level rallying
returns to British Columbia as teams from
across Canada and the Northwest United States
converge here in June to race on a compact,
challenging gravel road course at the Pacific
Forest Rally, round five of the 2003 Canadian
Rally Championship. During the 70’s
and 80’s the Pacific Forest Rally was
a fixture on the Canadian national calendar.
Revived once again in 2000, the event is now
based in Merritt, just 2.5 hours east of Vancouver. |
| In a short time the
Pacific Forest Rally has re-established itself
as a favourite event with both competitors
and fans alike. The team of rally organizers
is dedicated to making this event one of the
best in western North America. Their professionalism
and thoroughness will insure that every aspect
of the event is just right. The reputation
of this group and the picturesque setting
in the Nicola Valley have helped achieve instant
success, as fans and competitors continue
to flock to this event. Despite holding the
rally in mid-June, extreme mountain conditions
can arise to challenge drivers as dirt, rock,
and even snow test driving skill. Organizers
expect a strong field of at least 35 teams
from across Canada and the USA to compete
in the rally in 2003. |
This event is sanctioned by the Canadian
Association of Rallysport (CARS) and
Rally
Pacific Motorsports (RPM), and is
organized by the West
Coast Rally Association (WCRA).

Through Subaru Canada, CARS is pleased
to announce a special travel program designed
to help eastern national license holders
who are planning on competing in the Makita
Bighorn, Rocky Mountain and Pacific Forest
national rallies. The program has been
put together by Hansen’s Forwarding
and Canadian Pacific Railroad. The free
travel program is open to all competitors
in order to help promote participation
in the three western events of the Canadian
Rally Championship.
