This Cochrane, Alberta based team in their 3rd year together is starting to really gel, After 3 years of trying to finish the Rocky Mountain Rally, Driver, Penny Mellor and Co-driver, Rome Awde have finally done it. The team is looking forward to a recce event to create their own pace notes. "The PFR is an event that we have not been to yet" says Awde, "but we have aquired a sponsor for the event and we are looking forward to doing a recce event". Recce is when the competitors create their own route notes by traveling the roads, used for the rally, the day before the event. "This is how the World Rally teams do it to create detailed notes of roads and conditions, we have only just started using recce in Canadian events in the last year or so". Mellor and Awde run a stock VW GTI in production class, "the car is a seasoned runner and has seen the hills around Merrit before when we were here for Mountain Trails last year".
