Richard
Penrose will be running a Ford Escort Cosworth
that he imported from England. Dave Kean
from Everitt WA. will be co-driving. Richard
and Dave's first event together was the
recent Bighorn Rally. This Cosworth has
a little history to it, being an ex Ford
works Cosworth prepared by Gordon Spooner
Engineering in the UK, and used by Colin
McRae and Nicky Grist as a reece car. When
Colin and Nicky came back to Ford from Subaru
in 1999, there were not enough Focus parts/shells
to risk using those as a practice car, so
they used the older generation 'Cossy'.
Colin's and Nicky's names are embroidered
on the seats and Colin's signature is featured
on the hood of the car. This will be the
fourth event for the car and at present
Richard is trying to sort out a problem
with low turbo boost pressure.
