Maine’s Last
Ditch Racing is no stranger to traveling
across country to compete, having competed
in California in 2002. Pacific Forest has
been a goal of the team’s for quite
some time.
Driver John Cassidy said, “Dave and
I have wanted to head to Western Canada
for the past few years, but the budget hasn’t
been there. We’re really excited to
see what the roads are like and imagine
that Pacific Forest will feel somewhat like
our native Maine.
”The team has had a difficult year,
crashing heavily at their home event, the
Maine Forest Rally. “We love that
event, but it seems to bite us each year.”
The team cut a corner, finding a huge glacial
rock under a raspberry bush, putting an
end to a bid for a top 10 finish.
Last Ditch Racing has been a surprise in
the CARS championship this year, garnering
second overall until the recent Rallye Defi.
The team experienced transmission problems
and a flat which dropped them from what
would have been a top 5 finish to 10th.
“We’ve been working really hard
at stringing together consistent, tidy events
and staying on the road,” said Cassidy.
The team now stands third overall in the
CARS championship with two remaining events.
Will the team bring their infamous Triple
Caution Thong to Pacific Forest!? Said Cassidy,
“There’s no doubt that we’ll
do our best to share this award with the
West coast teams-we know many would like
to win it!” |
