| After another fun and eventful summer in road-race trim (resulting in a fresh paint job and a little more "character") the four-peaks RX7, "FPR2", has been transformed back into a P3 rally-car for the final two events of the Western Canadian Rally Championship.
This will be the fourth year that Four Peaks Racing has competed in the Pacific Forest Rally. Though Neil, Lorna, and team-manager Bill have always enjoyed their annual October visit to Merritt, the event has not been kind:
2004: DNF - "precariously perched" off the side of Nicola Lake Stage
2005: DNF - break-line and suspension failure
2006: DNF - wrote-off FPR1 rolling off Thynne Mountain
So this year our aim is simply to get a finish! Luckily, the new car for this season, "FPR2", doesn't appear to have the same BC jinx as we were able to get a class-win in Mountain Trials in Merritt in June.
Good thing, as the team will be pushing hard to maintain its current first-place position it finds itself in three events into the 2007 WCRC P3 battle. The P3 class was a very close finish in the Rocky Mountain Rally in May, so we know that its going to be tough to keep up with the competition.
Good luck to all the competitors in the event this year, and thanks to all the volunteers who dedicate so much time to make this such an excellent event each year.
