| DirtFish driving instructor Sam
Albert will be returning to Merritt for his third year
at the
Pacific Forest Rally and will be joined by international
codriver Rhianon Gelsomino. This will be
Rhianon's first running of the event and the first time the
two will be competing together. Their
car, an open class 2004 Subaru STI, is back after a major
off here last year but with a few
upgrades. This year the car has been lightened and balanced
as well as been outfitted with a
sequential transmission. Sam and Rhianon live and breathe
rally with Sam working as an
instructor for DirtFish Rally School, and Rhianon running
professional codriving courses with her
husband Alex under OzRallyPro. Sam had considerable pace
here last year and was in the running
for a podium finish until he and his regular codriver, Michelle
Miller, had an off at the end of the
Missezula-Dillard stage. Sam is looking to redeem himself
and will be pushing for a podium
finish and put the last year of training to work. Be sure
